Site shows moderate salt marsh impairment due to restricted tidal flow. Replacement with self-regulating tide gate could restore approximately 5-8 acres of degraded marsh habitat. - Gate Comments
- Tide Gate installed on downstream side of culvert. It is a combination sluice gate and flap gate. When closed, the flapper feature of the gate permits outflow from the upstream marsh. Operated manually via hanwheel on top of the culvert headwall.
