- General Comments
- Tide gate easily accessible and located at bottom of new headwall at the northern end of Broad Street.
- Operation Plan
- No
- Operation Comments
- Tide gate appeared to be installed for the sole purpose of flood protection and conveying stormwater outflows.
- Gate Comments
- Tide gate appeared to have been recently installed and was in good condition.
- Elevation Comments
- Staining was apparent on the downstream (D/S) end of the headwall (HW) so approximate extent of U/S and D/S tidal influence was able to be assessed in addition to tide gate (TG) invert elevations. Tide gate was located at the outfall of a stormwater infrastructure network so there was not upstream area to assess. The below lists measuredowns taken with a surveyors rod and corresponding top of headwall LiDAR elevations (NAVD88 datum).
1) TG Inv: Top of HW El (D/S) = 8.00’; Inv Measuredown = 10.08’; TG Inv = 8.00 – 10.08 = -2.08’
2) Upstream Tidal Influence: Top of headwall LiDAR Elevation = N/A; Staining Measuredown = N/A; U/S Tidal influence = N/A.
3) Downstream Tidal Influence: Top of headwall LiDAR elevation = 10.08’; Staining Measuredown = 4.58’; D/S Tidal Influence = 10.08’ – 4.58’ = 5.50’
